Abstract
This study endeavors to establish an exact mathematical relationship between the wrap rib and the central hub in wrap rib antennas. Differences and transformation relationships of three typical mounting configurations of the wrap rib on the central hub are analyzed, and the impacts of these mounting configurations on wrapping stress and structural stiffness are assessed. Moreover, a coordinate mapping of the wrap rib from its unwrapped state to wrapped state is executed, thereby providing an exact mathematical basis for structural design. Subsequently, parameters requirement constraints of the central hub are put forward, and the structural parameters optimization of the central hub is carried out. Lastly, a nonlinear finite element based wrapping simulation of a rib is implemented to verify the proposed method for structural design and optimization of the central hub in wrap rib antennas.
