Abstract
Due to the requirements of economy and performance, the configuration of the air conditioner is constantly updated, especially the key components such as the evaporator and condenser. Changes to these configurations can affect the operation conditions of the rotary compressor in the air conditioner, which requires the rotary compressor to be updated in design. This article conducts an experimental investigation on the operation condition of a rotary compressor in a 1.5HP air conditioner under the Chinese annual performance factor evaluation standard. Six parameters, including evaporation temperature, condensation temperature, suction temperature, expansion valve inlet temperature, ambient temperature surrounding the rotary compressor, and operation frequency, have been considered as the operation conditions to evaluate the operating environment of the rotary compressor. The operation conditions obtained in this experiment are compared with those obtained in 2019. The changes in discharge pressure, pressure ratio, discharge temperature, and operation frequency are clarified. Based on the comparison analysis, the design direction of the presented rotary compressor is provided.
