Research on stochastic dynamics of planetary gear system of wind turbine gearbox considering wear

Abstract

Wear increases tooth side clearance, causes gear vibration and reduces gear transmission accuracy. In this paper, the external wind speed of the wind turbine gearbox is simulated to obtain the dynamic torque caused by the change of wind speed. The 18 degree of freedom dynamics model of the planetary gear transmission system of a wind turbine gearbox is established, and the time-varying meshing stiffness (TVMS) of the gears considering the tooth coupling effect is introduced as the internal excitation to obtain the meshing forces of the inner and outer meshing pairs under the action of the dynamic torque. The time-varying wear coefficients are combined with the wear model to calculate the tooth wear under different wear cycles, and the depth of gear wear is regarded as a kind of tooth error to be brought into the dynamics model to obtain the dynamic response characteristics of the wind power planetary gears under wear failure. The results show that the sun gear is the most severely worn component of the planetary gears, and the ring has the lightest wear, and as the amount of wear accumulates, it increases the transmission error between the gears, increases the vibration of the planetary gear components, and significantly affects the meshing frequency of the gears and their sidebands.
