Abstract
Cavitation is a common undesired phenomenon which causes rise of noise and damage to units in axial piston pump, this article proposes a method to collect the wasted oil during piston decompression and reuse it for cavitation suppression. In order to verify this idea, a swash plate axial piston pump which suffers from cavitation was selected as the research object, simulation model, including 1D mathematical model and 3D fluid model, were built for analysis and unit design, critical parameters, such as piston pressure, flow ripple and cavitation distribution, are able to be exported by these two models, moreover, the optimized units were designed and a test bed was set up to measure pump noise and pressure ripple, the maximum reduction of noise and pressure ripple achieves 10.4 dBA and 12 bar respectively, besides, experimental result validates the effect of cavitation suppression. This research may provide a new way for reduction of noise and cavitation.
