Abstract
This report focuses on a small but significant group of learning disabled students who would be able to be successful in the most selective colleges. Within the context of a background of how a learning disability might present in and affect the school performance of a very bright student, guidelines are suggested for the identification of those students who would survive and thrive in the most competitive environments. Discussion is also presented of how these institutions might present themselves to the learning disabled student. Strong encouragement is given to the development of a more informed admissions process at not only the undergraduate level, but the graduate and professional-school levels as well.
