'Time out of time' events present opportunities for creative forms in many media that offer ways of stating not only traditional values, but problems and their solutions as tropes. Art forms, being esthetically attractive, can suggest new ideas without being threatening. All these arts communicate and so affect the way people think about things, and are an important part of the complex discourse in which changes are negotiated.
