Little is known about how parents in globalizing, non-Western societies are adjusting their parenting attitudes, practices, and styles to better fit modernizing environments. This article presents qualitative data on perspectives and practices of parenting in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Findings show that many parents are reluctant or unsure of how to adapt their parenting as part of the acculturation process. Further work is needed to identify interventions for strengthening positive parenting skills in the face of a changing Cambodian society.
