Three groups of members of a fraternal benefit society were analyzed in terms of
their volunteering behaviors using D.H. Smith's (1972) ISSTAL and General Activity
Models. The ISSTAL Model was found to be helpful in delineating relationships
between variables. Overall, our findings supported the General Activity Model,
with some exceptions.
