A telephone questionnaire survey of owners of 51 dogs was conducted. All51 dogs had had periodontal treatment at VHUP six months or more previously. At that time, they had received a tooth brush, dentifrice, instructions and a demonstrations of brushing. The owners were asked to brush the dogs' teeth once daily. At the time of survey, 53% of the clients were still brushing several times a week and 38% were no longer brushing at all.
