Displacement of teeth (malocclusions) in companion animals becomes important when it results in occlusal traumas and tooth attrition, or soft tissue damage. These defects may be so minor that years elapse before they take their toll on oral health or they may be so major that mastication is impossible.
This paper addresses the oral health aspects of veterinary dental orthodontics as it relates to anterior cross bite and interceptive orthodontics.
