Abstract
Innovative imagery is a health-patterning modality viewed from the perspective of Rogers's science of unitary human beings and Barrett's theory of power derived from the Rogerian paradigm. A health-patterning modality is a specific approach to enhancing power by assisting clients with their knowing participation in change. Innovative imagery is described as a unitary, nonlinear practice approach whereby clients are helped to go beyond the given to realize freedom and experience imaginative creativity. The science-base for innovative imagery as an active method for participation in the creation of one's reality including health and healing is presented. A case study from the author's private practice illustrates the application of innovative imagery as a health-patterning modality.
