Abstract
A diabetic patient on CAPD needs to incorporate the dietary requirements of CAPD into his diet. The dietary recommendations for both CAPD and diabetes are reviewed here. Patients with end-stage renal disease and diabetes have problems related to diet that are similar to those encountered by non-diabetic patients on CAPD, but many diabetics have the anorexia-nauseavomiting syndrome, which is most frustrating. This paper has discussed some possible causes for this syndrome and offered some potential solutions and recommendations. Essential to the care of these patients is a strong team approach.
