Aluminum has been implicated in the etiology of dialysis dementia, osteomalacic fractures and muscle weakness. This study was designed to determine whether aluminum is absorbed from commercially prepared peritoneal dialysate. Aluminum mass transfer studies were performed in three CAPD patients. Neutron activation analysis was used to determine plasma and dialysate concentrations.
