Abstract
In partial fulfillment of its mission and vision, Girls Incorporated has created an organizational “culture of analysis.” In partnership with its affiliates and increasingly with outside consultants and evaluators, Girls Incorporated develops, pilots, and evaluates research-based programs. Program staff training and program dissemination emphasize ongoing evaluation and program improvement. The principles of evaluation guide management and governance practices as well. Training for program directors and affiliate trustees include needs assessment, plans for organizational change to serve more girls in ways that better reflect the Girls Incorporated mission, and ongoing evaluation of these efforts.
