Teachers and schools must increasingly share the commitment of working students to both job and school. Although there is substantial research on the effects of teenage employment on the academic and employment outcomes for students, little is known about the effects on schools and teachers. This study describes educators 'views about the appropriate role of employment for high school students. Results point to educators' willingness to set some limits on the conditions of work for students but suggest the limited saliency of this problem at this time.
