Abstract
This volume is number 77 in the Sage University Paper Series on Quantitative Applications in the Social Sciences. It is a practical guide to the development of expert systems for those with limited experience. The authors use actual expert systems as examples throughout the text, and one system for classifying Andean soil types is explored in some detail. The book is packed with useful information and includes a listing of commercially available expert system shells and programming languages.
