This CD-ROM gives instant access to the complete text of Shakespeare, the Bible, a dozen American authors, early American and other historical documents, WordPerfect manuals through version 5.0, and a set of government acquisitions regulations. The user can easily locate any text combination, block out surrounding text, and save the found information to printer or word processing file. In addition the user can create word/phrase frequency distributions and concordances. Other capabilities include printing reference lists, inserting bookmarks for later return to the same place, and Boolean searching with optional precedence settings. The package is colorful, uses windows and function keys extensively, makes online help always available, and has an overall user-friendly, professional tone. This product alone could well be justification for purchasing the CD-ROM drive necessary to use it. It is invaluable for those working in the areas covered by the included texts and can provide useful and thought-provoking citations for almost any scholarly focus.
