Abstract
Inter-Nation Simulation IV (INS4) is a dynamic microcomputer model of the international system based on Harold Guetzkow's work at Northwestern University in the 1950s. About six decision making teams are assigned to prototype nations with defined characteristics concerning internal satisfaction with domestic and foreign policy, population and natural resources, research and development, military capability and defense, capital formation and depreciation, political structure, and national budget. A standard simulation run consists of a briefing, a trial period, several decision sessions dealing with a particular issue (four alternative scenarios are provided), and a debriefing.
