Abstract
Discussions of the ethical, legal, and political problems surrounding computer use are presented in these two volumes. Johnson's monograph makes an attempt to ground computer ethics in philosophical theory, particularly with respect to the role of the professional computer specialist. The edited collection includes 33 readings on the general social impact of computerization and emphasizes corporate, professional, and legal issues. Critically read, both books provide interesting insights, raise important social questions, and are reasonably adequate for introducing computer professionals to the values and problems of "ethical" computing.
