"The GLOBUS model is a large computer simulation model of many important macropolitical and macroeconomic processes," in the opening words of the manual. This is an understatement. GLOBUS may involve a researcher in as many as 40,000 variables and parameters. It is not just software but almost a stand-alone field of research (Deutsch, 1987, p. xxii).
