Abstract
Anyone with a personal computer and a telephone line can start his or her own online bulletin board with a small financial and a moderate time investment. In a nontechnical way, this book explains how to do it. It covers BBS services in general as well as hardware and software and contains samples and an extended case study, including a sample grant proposal and a budget. There are also useful appendixes on bibliography, vendors, and BBS addresses. This is a "must-have" book for the social scientist interested in creating a specialized dial-up bulletin board or forum in his field.
