Abstract
Summary: Online Communities is a clear and concise contribution to the understanding of what may be the most profound shift during the last 50 years in the way in which white-collar professionals do their work. It is not easy armchair reading, however, and readers should be forewarned that this is a research monograph, communicating the results of an empirical study to a scientific audience. The data have clear limitations, but the findings are provocative, nonetheless. It should be read by all who profess interest in professional telecommunication among scientists.
