Abstract
Summary: The IBM PLANNING ASSISTANT is the spreadsheet module of ibm's "Assistant" series. As such it is integrated with other modules (graphics, file management, word processing), all advertised as easy-to-use but powerful packages for the beginner. This would seem to qualify it as a leading contender for the faculty member looking for an instructional spreadsheet. However, the IBM PLANNING ASSISTANT fails in this role due to unique features which make it non- standard.
