Abstract
CLAPS is a simple course authoring system for computer assisted instruction (cM) modules. The system provides for fill-in- the-blank items, true/false items, and multiple choice items. The author disk includes a word processor, "Touch Typer," to construct the lesson files. Preparing lesson files requires learning a very simple command language. Although lacking functions of more elaborate authoring systems, CLAS could be a good choice for those wishing to construct simple drill-type CAI lessons.
