Abstract

The author in this article highlights listening within the discipline of nursing and reflects on living the art from a humanbecoming perspective, rather than the traditional nursing practice. Although many theoretical perspectives speak of nursing as a practice-based discipline, this article advances some thoughts on listening within the framework of nursing as a basic science. In addition, some thoughts and a brief exemplar are provided on the humanbecoming model of living the art.
