Abstract
Over the past several years, education in general and nursing education specifically has implemented a variety of technological formats in which to enhance the teaching-learning environment. As nursing students are exposed to more and more technology as a teaching platform, the question remains whether they are getting enough exposure to actual presence, since it is presence that is often recommended as a large part of nurse-person encounters. This column then explores the existence of presence in technology, while describing the surfacing of presence in several technological formats.
