Abstract

An insightful ability to connect distinguishes Professor Stohl’s remarkable work. Her scholarship has played a pivotal role in moving the organizational communication discipline into the global arena, connecting organizational communication with both new scholars and new realms of inquiry befitting the world stage. Cynthia has helped connect organizational communication to the broader global arena by going global herself. Her work is marked by her engagement of globalization issues and validated by her experiences as a scholar working both outside and inside the United States. More importantly, Cynthia’s prominence in our field grows from her commitment to values of scholarship and practice, a commitment you will find connected throughout her address. And it is that commitment to our shared values of scholarship that connects us all as organizational scholars.
