Resin impregnation through non-homogeneous fiber preforms is analyti cally characterised using Darcy's law in expanding flow domains of various shapes with a uniform velocity profile at the injection gate. Influences of variable preform permeabilities and mold shapes are analysed, which show a good qualitative agreement with existing ex perimental data. This work shows that an uneven distribution of the preform permeability significantly changes the pressure field. In addition, a change of the mold shape results in a non-linear variation of the inlet pressure with impregnation time.
