Abstract
This school based research project set out to investigate the School entrance behaviour of five-year-olds. The particular focus was to ascertain any differences between the entry behaviour of boys and girls. The aim was to identify, at the time of entry, children who may find progress in reading difficult to achieve. The author uses this as an example of a collegiate approach to school leadership and the development of a community of learners.
