The editorial team thought that the MiE readership might be interested in gaining an insight into the role of the Chair of BELMAS. We therefore invited three chairs to contribute to a mini series of ‘Accounts of BELMAS Chairs’ to appear in concurrent issues of MiE. Professor Peter Ribbins starts this mini series by taking us on a fascinating journey of his amazing work for BELMAS that spans some 35 years, including his work as Chair of BELMAS. The account is striking in its humility and moving in its elegiacal recognition of dear friends and colleagues of BELMAS.
