Abstract
Women-owned businesses currently employ more workers than the Fortune 500 largest companies. Strickland and Burrargue that women entrepreneurs are the fastest growing small business sector in the nation. Economic development programs should be expanded at the local, state, and federal government to maximize the strengths of these companies to increase their revenues, boost the tax base, and create jobs. These government programs will assist these businesses to create the jobs of the future.
