Abstract
As educators begin to address the roles of identification, evaluation, and management of students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), teachers remain relatively uninformed about their role in medical management. This article addresses the critical issues in the medication management of students with AD/HD in the classroom. The issues of considering, trying, and optimizing stimulant medication effects are discussed. Medication side effects and their manctgement, along with long-term management issues, are highlighted.
