Abstract
There is a widespread perception that awards in tort liability cases have reached crisis proportions. Educators are not immune to tort actions, and special educators face some unique difficulties in avoiding tort damages. Critical issues in tort liability that confront educators are analyzed. Implications of current legal practice are discussed for each issue, along with suggestions for teacher educators who wish to introduce students to legal issues.
