Abstract
This paper presents a model for preservice teacher preparation of general and special educators in collaboration. The model includes both university-based and school site activities. Candidates collaborated in pairs to identify and assess learning challenges in students, intervene and evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. A candidate survey used for evaluating the training program activities along with data collected is also presented. Results indicate the proposed model was successful. Recommendations for improving training and research into collaboration skill training are also provided.
