Abstract
This article elaborates upon basic essentials required for developing community-based correctional Pilot Homes. These homes, by definition should be designed to accommodate a maximum of 48 first offender felons. This inmate population would be divided into four semi-independent groups, making possible comparative analysis of data derived from the experimental v. control groups. The response variable of major concern is rate of recidivism following the clients' discharge. The dependent variables selected would be chosen objectively, in concerted efforts to identify and alleviate "bugs" from current criminology research data. All pilot home clients would be engaged in educational class work, job training, or full-time jobs. All clients would also attend 90 minute Reality Therapy sessions, Monday through Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
