Abstract
This study was designed to answer the question: Is there a sequence for presenting objectives in the area of clothing construction which will facilitaie the acquisition of new learnings and, thus, produce positive transfer of knowledge and skills? Two hundred seventy-one members of the Association of College Professors of Textiles and Clothing completed a questionnaire containing 159 objectives related to clothing construction. Seven factors emerged from the data. Items were listed by means within each factor, and factors were placed into difficulty levels by means. Data analysis revealed a pattern which has meaning for the ordering of objectives both within and between factors. Further study is needed to provide a basis for suggesting the prerequisite relationship that may exist within these relationships.
