Pattern/Patron was designed in response to consumers' desire for garment customization. As technology becomes increasingly sophisticated, but affordable, more and more customized products become possible. The garment combines both computer patternmaking and textile design technology to create customized textile designs on customized pattern pieces. The pattern was produced on the PAD system of computer-aided pattern design. It was then exported to Adobe Illustrator, where the graphic design was added. The embellished pattern pieces were digitally printed on paper-backed ecru silk tussah.
