Abstract
Mergers and acquisitions, increasing globalization, rapid advances in technology, corporate downsizing-along with a critical shortage of certain kinds of talent-all contribute to a workplace that is in a state of constant flux. During its sixhour annual board meeting in October 1998, some 20 members of CBR's Advisory Board took on the major issues and trends, as well as the ever-changing list of demands, that face today's compensation and benefits specialists.
