Abstract
Relocation has become a major issue for today's companies, but many employees are rejecting relocation offers. Family needs-working spouses, aging parents, children in school-and the greater leverage of skilled employees who can afford to stay put thanks to the current labor market, are some of the reasons why employees are opting out. Furthermore, the cost of getting an affirmative answer from relocation candidates is rising as companies seek to escalate incentives and ancillary benefits. In order to ensure maximum success with relocation, managers need to assess an employee's needs and determine which benefits fit the employee's requirements while still managing to meet the company's budget.
