Abstract
Starting in July 2015, California’s Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014 mandates accrual of paid sick days for most workers employed at least 30 days per year in California. This article highlights some of the anticipated responses of workers and employers to the new law and some general considerations arising from legislated floors on paid time off.
