Abstract
Project teams have been around since the 1980s but lost popularity because of our limited knowledge of how to make them effective. Today, project teams have been successfully accomplishing mission-critical projects accompanied by a growing understanding of team dynamics. But what have we learned about rewarding project teams? This article addresses the challenge of using project team incentives in today’s environment. It discusses the advantages of project teams and how they are typically rewarded, how to develop an architectural framework for effective team incentives, how to involve best practices and what pitfalls to avoid when implementing project team incentives.
