Abstract
Businesses make a huge investment in their benefits programs, but many aren’t receiving an adequate return on that investment. Although employers think they do a good job educating employees on their benefits program and the value of it, the reality is that employees still say they don’t understand their benefits and don’t know what their employer pays for them. Integrating an individual, one-to-one educational session with a benefits professional into a benefits communication plan can help businesses make the most of their benefits program investment. Individual benefits sessions can go a long way in helping employees make better benefits decisions and better appreciate what the company provides. The more employees understand their benefits choices, the more likely they are to appreciate the value of what the company provides and the more likely high-performing employees may think twice about moving to another company.
