This article addresses key aspects of the new military leave laws of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and sets forth general guidance and explanations provided by the Department of Labor (DOL) through its interpretations and regulations. This article is not an exhaustive account of all regulations related to the new military leave laws and is not designed to provide legal advice. Employers are urged to seek input from counsel regarding specific compliance with the FMLA and the unique circumstances presented by any particular situation.
