Abstract
The Internet has become a dominant force in business and daily life. Although different industries have seen varying levels of online success, the incentive industry is being revolutionized by the adaptation of traditional incentive programs to online solutions. The application of Web-based incentives is still in its infancy, but a number of professional motivation companies have foreseen its significance and developed remarkable applications. The percentage of the $15 billion business spends annually on incentives now being channeled to online programs is on the rise. The Internet is an economical, efficient and flexible vehicle that is saving businesses that are creating new incentive programs both time and money. The advantages over traditional programs include increased efficiency, flexibility, scalability, ease of communication, administrative options and communication tools.
