Abstract
Employers need to use new methods to control costs while continuing to offer the quality benefits packages that attract and retain top personnel. The solution may lie in a program that already exists in many benefits programs-the flexible spending account (FSA). FSA plans allow employers to stay competitive in recruiting and retaining quality personnel while reducing benefit costs. Seeding and matching are two methods employers may use to entice employees to participate in FSAS, while helping employers control the rising costs of their overall benefits packages.
