The following article, coauthored by the QAUR Case Study Editor, and Reginald F. Wells, Ph.D. (2.) is presented to demonstrate the utility of risk management when, as a component of a comprehensive QA initiative, it is applied to critical policy dilemmas facing health care providers today. The practical application of RM in formulating an AIDS policy for a public MRDD service agency is outlined as a strategic example-the "case study" if you will.
