For the senior oral and maxillofacial surgery resi dent, the task of establishing a well functioning pri vate practice is filled with great challenges and op portunities. The purpose of this article is to make the beginning oral and maxillofacial surgeon aware of the concepts of quality assurance and utilization re view and their application to private practice. Dis cussions, methods, and examples of evaluating one's office are presented.
