Abstract
This holistic bibliography integrates the various dimensions of suburbs and at the same time draws attention to the inherent value of different perspectives. These perspectives, when viewed together, create a picture of suburbs that has a richness, range, and depth that is not normally found in suburban research. Multiple literature searches resulted in about 1,500 references that are sorted intofifty categories. The references in each category are preceded by a list of search terms, a short introduction, and key words and phrases that are often links to other categories in this bibliography. An author index and a geographic index are provided to facilitate access to the references in each category.
