There are several types of oropharyngeal dysphagia that are amenable to surgical correction. This article discusses the following topics: the role of cricopharyngeal myotomy in various forms of dysphagia, the surgical approaches to Zenker's diverticulum, and various surgical options in the management of chronic aspiration.
