Congenital central nervous system (CNS) tumors are a rare and diverse group of tumors with variable biological behavior depending on location and histology. This review summarizes the published literature and describes the definition, epidemiology, diagnosis and evaluation, and treatment of congenital central nervous system tumors. (J Child Neurol 1997;12:157-164).
